David was born in Perth, Scotland. He graduate from Aberdeen University with an MA Honours Degree in English Literature before going on to train as an actor/musician at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, in Wales. He is also a qualified teacher and directs and teaches Drama at several different private schools in Wales.
He is co-founder (with Firenza Guidi) and Associate Director of Elan (European Live Arts Network) and has been acting, composing and performing instrumental and vocal music for theatre performances for the past twenty-five years, travelling throughout Europe and various other parts of the world including the US, Cuba, India and South America.
He takes inspiration from a wide variety of musical genres and his composing output has also been influenced by his performance encounters with international masters from disciplines including Chinese Clown, Balinese Dance and Katakali.
