Alex is a genderless artist who creates sensory performance experiences filled with symbolic meanings as his main method of expression. Duarte’s creations traverse an unlimited range of emotional and psychological conditions created from fragments of parallels personal experiences and larger social realities.
Drawing from over a decade of performance work as a dancer, circus artist and choreographer, Alex’s core artistic expression uses subversive occult messages to reflect and respond to contemporary culture, people, beliefs and places. He continually commits to institutional critique and social engagement through generating works to engage the public sphere and question the old ways of being and existing.
