NoFit State’s critically acclaimed production LEXICON will be presented this winter with a specially-adapted relaxed performance on Wednesday 29th December.
Taking place in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, the matinee will be the first-ever performance of LEXICON to be performed as a relaxed version inside the Big Top, with a reduced capacity of 300. It will give families and adults who can get overwhelmed in traditional performance settings the opportunity to experience this joyful circus show full of magic, laughter and lightness.
Relaxed Performances are designed to provide a warm greeting and comfortable experience to anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment when viewing the show. Whilst these performances can be enjoyed by people with a wide variety of needs, they especially intend to cater for people with an Autistic Spectrum Condition, sensory and communication disorders, or learning disabilities.
To help everyone feel welcome at the Big Top during a Relaxed Performance, the show allows movement and talking in the auditorium, easy exit and re-entry during the show, and a chill-out space outside of the Big Top for those who need to take a break from the action.
Technical changes to the production are also integrated where the audience can expect reduced theatrical effects (smoke, bright lights, loud sounds), as well as operational house lights, slightly dimmed, throughout the show.
Before the performance, all guests will receive a digital familiarisation pack where detailed information about the venue and the performance is explained with pictures. The tent will open early for people to come and look around, get familiar, and meet the Front of House Team, who will have name badges on for the visitors to easily recognise when help is needed.
For anyone attending the Relaxed Performance who needs any other information, they can contact our Box Office directly on 02921 321 021 or email [email protected].
